Egg Tempera
Rebecca has worked primarily in the traditional technique of egg tempera for the last 20 years. This medium, which combines egg yolk and pigments to create a bright, luminous and durable paint was the primary medium of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, used by artists such as Botticelli and Michelangelo. It continues to be used in Orthodox Icon painting which is where Rebecca’s interest in the medium originates from.
Rebecca teaches occasional short courses and one to one tuition on this technique and also gives talks and demonstrations on the subject, see her teaching page for updated details on all courses, prices and availability.
